Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 11 September 2026

Welcome to The Editable Wedding. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of theeditablewedding.com and to all purchases made from The Editable Wedding.

The Editable Wedding is operated by Abbey Smith, trading as The Editable Wedding, in New Zealand (“The Editable Wedding”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By accessing our website or purchasing a product from us, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

1. Our Products

The Editable Wedding primarily sells digital, editable wedding stationery and templates. Unless expressly stated otherwise in a product listing, no physical product will be shipped.

Our templates are designed to be personalised by the customer using Canva or another platform specified in the relevant product listing.

Product colours, fonts, layouts, wording and editable elements may vary between products. Please read the individual product description carefully before purchasing to ensure the template meets your requirements.

2. Digital Downloads

Digital products are made available electronically following purchase.

You are responsible for providing a valid email address and for ensuring that you have the appropriate device, internet connection, software and/or account required to access and use your purchase.

We recommend accessing and saving your template to your Canva account promptly after purchase.

We do not guarantee that an original template link will remain available indefinitely. From time to time, templates or links may be updated, replaced, modified or discontinued.

If you have previously purchased a template and experience difficulty accessing it, please contact us at theeditablewedding@gmail.com. Where reasonably possible, we will assist you in accessing your purchased product or an appropriate current version.

3. Canva

Many of our products are designed for use with Canva. Unless a product listing states otherwise, our templates are intended to be accessible using a free Canva account.

Canva is an independent third-party service and is not owned, operated or controlled by The Editable Wedding.

We are not responsible for Canva's availability, outages, account restrictions, technical issues, changes to its platform, discontinued features or changes to its terms or pricing.

Where an issue relates specifically to one of our template links or designs, please contact us and we will reasonably assist you.

4. Editing and Customer Responsibility

Our products are primarily self-editable templates. Unless a listing expressly includes a customisation service, you are responsible for editing and personalising your purchased template.

Please carefully check all names, dates, times, addresses, spelling, grammar, dimensions and other information before downloading, printing or distributing your finished design.

The Editable Wedding is not responsible for errors introduced by the customer during editing or for costs incurred as a result of customer-approved or customer-created errors.

We are, however, happy to help where reasonably possible if you experience difficulty using one of our templates. Please contact theeditablewedding@gmail.com.

Customisation or design services may occasionally be offered separately or by agreement. Any additional charges, scope and conditions will be communicated before that work begins.

5. Printing

Our templates may generally be printed at home, through a local or online print provider, through Canva where available, or through another printing service of your choice.

Printed colours may differ from colours displayed on a screen due to differences in monitors, printers, inks, paper stocks and print settings.

Paper quality, colour reproduction, trimming, sizing and the final print result are also dependent on your chosen printer and materials.

The Editable Wedding is not responsible for the performance, errors or print quality of independent third-party printing services.

We strongly recommend reviewing proofs and confirming sizing and specifications with your chosen printer before placing a large print order.

6. Personal Use Licence

Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, purchasing a product gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the purchased design for one wedding or personal event.

You may:

  • personalise the template for that event;
  • create and print the number of finished copies reasonably required for that event;
  • digitally send finished stationery to guests where appropriate; and
  • use the finished materials as part of that event.

Your purchase does not transfer ownership or copyright in the underlying template or design.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not, without our prior written permission:

  • resell, redistribute or sublicense a template or any editable version of it;
  • share, publish or distribute the editable template link;
  • provide the template to another person for their separate wedding or event;
  • sell physical or digital products created from our templates;
  • reproduce our templates for commercial sale;
  • claim our templates or designs as your own original work;
  • copy or substantially reproduce our designs for the purpose of creating competing products;
  • extract or redistribute individual design elements for commercial purposes; or
  • upload or use our templates or designs in an artificial intelligence, machine-learning or generative design system for the purpose of training a model, reproducing the design, extracting its design elements, creating substantially similar products, or developing products for resale.

All rights not expressly granted under these Terms are reserved.

8. Wedding Planners, Designers and Other Professionals

Wedding planners, coordinators, designers and other professionals may purchase a template for use on behalf of one individual client or one event.

A standard purchase does not permit a professional to reuse the same template for multiple clients.

If you would like to use our products across multiple clients, offer them as part of a professional service, or discuss wholesale, extended or commercial licensing, please contact theeditablewedding@gmail.com to discuss appropriate pricing and licensing.

9. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the website, templates, graphics, layouts, photographs owned by us, written content, branding and original design elements available through The Editable Wedding are owned by or licensed to The Editable Wedding and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Purchasing a product grants you only the licence described in these Terms. It does not transfer intellectual-property ownership to you.

Third-party fonts, graphics, software or other elements may remain subject to the rights and licence terms of their respective owners.

10. Refunds, Exchanges and Cancellations

Due to the digital nature of our products and the immediate access typically provided after purchase, we generally do not offer refunds, exchanges or cancellations for change of mind, accidental purchases, failure to read the product description, or where a customer simply no longer wants or needs the product.

This does not limit any rights or remedies you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 or other applicable consumer law.

If your digital product is faulty, materially differs from its description, cannot be accessed because of an issue with the product supplied by us, or otherwise fails to meet a guarantee that applies under law, please contact us at theeditablewedding@gmail.com so that we can investigate and provide an appropriate remedy where required.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Prices and Payment

Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website at the time of purchase.

You are responsible for reviewing the total price displayed at checkout before completing your order.

Payments are processed through Shopify and/or third-party payment providers. We do not directly control those providers and their own terms and privacy practices may also apply.

Where applicable, taxes may be calculated or collected according to relevant legal requirements.

We reserve the right to change product prices at any time. A subsequent price change will not affect an order already completed.

12. Promotions and Discount Codes

Promotions, sales and discount codes may be subject to additional conditions.

Unless stated otherwise, discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively to completed purchases, exchanged for cash or combined with other offers.

We reserve the right to modify or withdraw a promotion where permitted by law, including where an obvious error or misuse has occurred.

13. Product Changes and Availability

We may update, improve, replace or discontinue products and templates from time to time.

Because digital design tools and third-party platforms evolve, a template's appearance or functionality may occasionally require updating.

Where you have already purchased a product, we will act reasonably in responding to legitimate access issues. However, purchasing a template does not guarantee that the original version or original access link will be hosted indefinitely.

14. Website Information

We aim to ensure that product descriptions, images, pricing and other website information are accurate.

However, minor typographical, technical or administrative errors may occasionally occur. We may correct such errors when discovered, subject to our obligations under applicable consumer law.

Product photographs and mock-ups are illustrative. Screen colours and printed results can vary, as explained above.

15. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website and products may rely on or contain links to third-party services, including Canva, Shopify, payment providers and printing services.

Those third parties operate independently and may have their own terms, privacy policies and service conditions.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, services or acts outside our reasonable control, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Editable Wedding will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including third-party platform outages, printing-provider errors or customer editing mistakes.

Nothing in this section, or elsewhere in these Terms, excludes or limits liability or consumer rights where doing so would be unlawful.

17. Misuse and Termination of Licence

If you materially breach the licence or intellectual-property provisions of these Terms, we may revoke your permission to use our products and take reasonable steps to protect our intellectual property.

This may include requesting removal of unlawfully shared or resold materials and, where appropriate, pursuing available legal remedies.

Termination of a licence does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.

18. Privacy

Personal information collected through our website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law.

Our separate Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it may be used and the third parties involved in operating our store.

19. Age and Authority

You must be at least 18 years old to make a purchase from The Editable Wedding, or have the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

If you purchase on behalf of another person, client or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so and agree to comply with the applicable licence conditions.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our products, services, business practices or legal obligations.

The current version will be published on this website with an updated “Last updated” date.

The Terms applicable to a purchase will generally be those in effect when that purchase was made, except where a later change is required by law or agreed with you.

21. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to prevent a consumer from relying on any mandatory rights or protections available to them under applicable consumer law.
